2023 season summary of visits to Cas Comte

Cas Comte welcomes 13,769 visitors in its first season

The decision by the Torre-saura Foundation to open the palace to the public has yielded results far exceeding initial forecasts in its first season. Spaniards, French, and British visitors have shown the greatest interest in exploring the rooms of the count’s residence on their own.

The project launched this year by the company Talaia Cultura SL to fulfill the commission from the Fundación José María de Olives y de Ponsich, Conde de Torre-saura has been a success. The 24 rooms that have been opened to visitors this year have attracted the interest of almost 14.000 people during the six months that the count’s house has been opened, from May 1 to October 31, coinciding with the tourist season.

By nationality, Spaniards lead the ranking with a total of 5.881 visitors, just over 44% of the total. They are followed by the French, with a total of 3.481 visitors, just over 22% of the total. The third nationality in terms of visitor numbers was the United Kingdom, which, with a total of 3.045 visitors, contributed another almost 22% to the total number of visits received. The rest of the visitors, almost 12%, came from up to 25 different countries in Europe, Asia, and America.

The president of the Foundation, Mr. Roger Zannier, expressed the satisfaction of the entire Board with the success of the initiative to raise awareness of the Olives family’s legacy among the general public, ensuring its continuity in the future.

The director of the company that manages visits to Cas Comte, historian Antoni Camps Extremera, has confirmed that next year the tour will be extended further with the restoration of areas of notable interest that have been closed to the public until now.
