A noble archive is the result of the accumulation “in writing” of the activities carried out by an aristocratic family over several generations, the personal and public occupations of its members, the administration of its assets and properties, the exercise of jurisdictional powers and ecclesiastical patronage, and its policy of alliances and marriages with other families. In fact, the archive is key to the maintenance of a house, the guarantee for the defense and justification of properties, rights, jurisdiction, honors, and privileges.

The Torre-saura County House has a historical archive of great interest for research. Work is currently underway to preserve and organize it so that it can be passed on to future generations as a source of information for a greater understanding of the history and culture of Menorca. So far, 80,000 documents have been processed, undergoing conservation, organization, description, and installation. Although documents from the 14th and 16th centuries have been identified, the largest volume covers the period between the 17th and 19th centuries, increasing exponentially from the early years of the 20th century.
